We're The Wood family, proud producers of raw dairy, 100% grass-fed beef, pastured eggs, and pastured pork. Our farm is nestled in Currys Post within the mist belt of the KZN Midlands.
Dreams Take Roots
Since childhood, I harbored a dream of farming. At 45, that dream finally took root. Nestled in residential Howick, longing for a farm of our own, my husband's "anything is possible" attitude led us to a bold decision—we brought Katherine, a Jersey cow, into our garden, and thus began our remarkable journey.
From Garden to Farm
Two years later, despite skepticism from others, we seized an opportunity—an abused and neglected farm/smallholding within our means. With relentless dedication, we transformed it into a sanctuary of love and understanding for all life—our animals, insects, soil, and wildlife.
A Dairy Revelation:
My passion for dairy was marred by disillusionment with its commercial aspects. Even before Katherine, I delved into an alternative approach to dairy farming.
Embracing Raw Milk:
I sought milk in its purest, untouched form—a gift from the same God who created us. Why would He provide anything less than perfection?
Researching raw milk, I uncovered its extraordinary healing properties and felt compelled to pursue this path.
Compassion in Action:
Our mission extended beyond milk quality to the welfare of our cows. In "calf at foot" dairy farming, calves stay with their mothers, contrary to conventional practices of separation. This choice reflects our commitment to compassion over convenience.
